Daily Prayer - Monday 27 February 2012
Islam wields powerful influence in Bangladesh, leaving the country’s small Christian community highly exposed to discrimination and violence. They are commonly disadvantaged in education and employment, and several have been martyred in recent years. Muslim extremists are also demanding the introduction of “blasphemy laws”; Christians have suffered grievously under such legislation in Pakistan. They also share in the general scarcity in one of the poorest countries in the world, which is especially prone to devastating floods and cyclones. Pray that the Lord will uphold His people as they seek to serve Him in the face of these challenges, and that He will empower the brave Bangladeshi evangelists who share their faith boldly with others.
