Daily Prayer - Saturday 02 June 2012
Thank the Lord that a group of Indonesian Christians have won a lengthy legal battle over the ownership of their village. Horale, in Maluku province, was almost razed to the ground in a brutal attack by a Muslim mob from the neighbouring village of Saleman on 2 May 2008; four Christians were killed and 56 injured. Then a week later Muslims from Saleman brought a legal challenge over the ownership of Horale, claiming that the land was part of their territory. The Supreme Court has now ruled that the land rightfully belongs to the Christians. Barnabas helped the Horale Christians with the legal costs and also with the reconstruction of the village. Pray for them as they continue to rebuild their lives and community.
