Daily Prayer

The Lord has promised, "I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint."
(Jeremiah 31:25)

Many Christians living in ongoing situations of discrimination and persecution are weary and faint, worn down by the year-in, year-out struggle to survive and the frustration of the injustices they suffer.

Help them to find strength and hope in God by praying for them, with us, daily.

Join with us daily in praying for the persecuted church around the world.

Daily Prayer - Tuesday 22 January 2013

The protests against the anti-Islamic film Innocence of Muslims led in September 2012 to renewed calls for a global blasphemy law. Muslim leaders such as the head of Hezbollah, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah, and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for an international law banning the defamation of religion, chiefly Islam. There are concerns that such a law, if introduced, would limit rights to freedom of speech, and that it could lead to Christians and other non- Muslims in Muslim-majority countries being even more marginalised and endangered. Existing “blasphemy laws” in Pakistan are often misused, and Christians are especially vulnerable. Pray that the international community will firmly resist the introduction of an international blasphemy law.
