Daily Prayer - Tuesday 24 January 2012
Scores of young Christians in Tajikistan were eager to learn how to start their own business and find their way out of poverty when they were given the opportunity to take a five-day course sponsored by Barnabas in their local church. Twenty-nine of the 37 students who handed in a business plan received a loan from their church. They started small businesses, including selling watermelons, washing cars, and repairing electrical household appliances. Praise God for this opportunity for Christians in the poorest of the former Soviet states to become self-sufficient. Pray that more Christians will be able to start their businesses as the first group repay their loans.
