This year’s Suffering Church Sunday resources focus in various ways on the need to prepare for persecution. You may like to choose a Sunday in November (or another month in the next year if this is better for your church calendar) and use the material on these pages for a special service or meeting on this theme.

In today’s world, hatred of Christ’s disciples is widespread and severe. Discrimination, harassment and persecution blight the lives of our brothers and sisters in many parts of the world. Even in some Western countries, such as the UK, persecution is becoming a reality as Christians face increasing hostility to their faith.
This year Suffering Church Sunday focuses on the need for Christians to be ready for persecution, in whatever forms it may come. Our theme is “Be on Your Guard”. We invite your church to set aside one Sunday, in November or whenever suits you best, to focus on this theme and to remember those who suffer most grievously for their faith in Christ. On these pages you will find a range of resources for your Suffering Church Sunday service, and others are available to order.
