South Sudan - Christian School, Juba
Country/Region: Africa, Middle East and North Africa, South Sudan
![]() |
In newly-independent South Sudan, education is a priority need. Educating Christian children will help to re-build the nation and empower the Christian community, many of whose children have missed out on years of schooling because of the civil war. This co-educational, church-run primary school of 248 pupils currently holds lessons under reed shelters in the open air. Barnabas Fund is paying for the building of four classrooms, at a total cost of £22,000 (US$35,724.88). These will protect children and teachers from the weather and will enable the children to focus on their lessons.
