Kenya - Support for Missionaries 25-017
Country/Region: Africa, Kenya
More than 80% of Kenyans call themselves Christians, but Muslims form the majority in some areas, and Christians there may suffer discrimination. Recently there have been an increasing number of attacks on Christians and church buildings in the Muslim-dominated parts of Kenya. These have left behind widows, orphans and Christians feeling very vulnerable. Muslims are seeking to increase their influence in Kenya, but Barnabas Aid continues to support Kenyan Christian missionaries serving God in Muslim communities in Kenya and other nearby countries of Africa. This project assists with the support of 30 Christian missionaries and their families through a locally-founded mission agency that works among unreached people groups that are almost unknown even to Kenyans and in Muslim areas. £50 per missionary per month provides 55% of their travel, medical, training and subsistence living costs.
