Burma Cyclone - Situation Update

12 June 2008
“We are glad to report that grants from Barnabas Fund are safely reaching Burma (Myanmar) and we are receiving news and pictures from our partners there.

The first grants have been used to provide water, food (especially rice and milk powder for babies), tarpaulins (to make temporary shelters) and medical aid to Christians in scores of villages in the Irrawaddy Delta area and in Rangoon (Yangon).  We have also been focusing on helping orphans, both those in existing Christian orphanages and the newly orphaned children who lost their Christian parents in the cyclone.”
