Projects > Feeding in Zimbabwe

24 May 2017

Many of Zimbabwe's Christians face immense pressure under the regime of Robert Mugabe and the ZANU-PF party. The country, which used to be the bread basket of Africa now often suffers food shortages and has to import maize to feed its population. There has been a severe drought in 2015-16 causing very poor harvests and the death of thousands of cattle.there is widespread hunger, approaching famine in the South of the country.Working through a network of local churches, Barnabas Fund coordinates emergency aid supplies to feed those families identified as being in the greatest need, so as to prevent starvation and disease.
