CANADA: Ontario parliament passes law allowing state to remove children who identify as LGBTQI from parents who oppose such ideology

Ontario’s governing Liberal party has just introduced a new law that allows the state to remove children from their biological parents where the parents oppose LGBTQI ideology. Michael Coteau, the Minister of Child and Family Services who introduced the bill, described any parent not supporting their child’s self-identification as LGBTQI as guilty of child abuse, stating:

“I would consider that a form of abuse, when a child identifies one way and a caregiver is saying no, you need to do this differently,” he said.

“If it’s abuse, and if it’s within the definition, a child can be removed from that environment and placed into protection where the abuse stops.”
