Our Religious Freedom

We, the undersigned call on the Honourable the Minister of Justice, to conduct a review of the legislation and case law on human rights and freedoms in New Zealand and take any necessary legislative action to ensure that our hard fought for religious freedoms are fully protected: the freedom to worship; freedom to read the Bible in public; freedom to interpret the Bible without government interference; freedom to choose or change one’s faith or belief; freedom to preach and try to convince others of the truth of one’s beliefs; freedom to build places of worship etc.; freedom from being required to affirm a particular worldview or set of beliefs in order to study, hold a public sector job (unless a genuine occupational requirement such as chaplaincy posts), stand for election or provide care for children.
